Just having one of those days...and this song...well...it hit home. Don't worry about me...tomorrow is a new day and I will be ok!
Tied Together With a Smile
Seems the only one who doesn't see your beauty
is the face in the mirror looking back at you
you walk around here thinking your not pretty
but that's not true, cause I know you...
hold on, baby you're losing it
the waters high, your jumping into it
and letting go and no one knows
that you cry, but you don't tell anyone
that you might not be the golden one
and your tied together with a smile
but your coming undone
I guess it's true that love was all you wanted
cause you've given it away like it's extra change
hoping it will end up in his pocket
but he leaves you out like a penny in the rain
oh, cause it's not his price to pay
not his price to pay...
hold on, baby you're losing it
the waters high, your jumping into it
and letting go and no one knows
that you cry, but you don't tell anyone
that you might not be the golden one
and your tied together with a smile
but your coming undone

20 Things Thursday
I feel like myself again…it is a NICE feeling! Does anyone else make lists about the good things going on around them?
1. Friday Night-Girl’s Night with Shawn…including some dinner and shopping…good times!
2. Met someone for coffee…it wasn’t horrible and I survived!
3. Lunch with an old acquaintance…it was fun to catch up and learn about someone new…I am looking forward to our new found friendship (Hi SUZI).
4. Movies…yes I said MOVIES! We saw 500 Days of Summer and Away We Go. Both cute movies…
5. It has been a week of making fun plans for my trip…it is going to be so much fun to walk, visit AMAZING people and see such cool cities…I am such a lucky girl!
6. WW Meeting…with Amy and Marissa…if I keep going I know it will start to sink back in. We can DO THIS!
7. Tuesday…was the 6 year anniversary of me quitting smoking…WHOOOO! It seems like a lifetime ago.
8. Tuesday was also some girl time with Lu…I took her to her first Kohl’s shopping experience…it was successful!
9. We went back and made an AWESOME dinner with her husband and then we sat around the table for at least 2 hours just talking. Good People, Good Food, Good Times!
10. At lunch on Tuesday…I was SO productive in 1 hour…I went to the bank, picked up my medicine, went to the post office, got my hair trimmed and had time to run through Target and get 2 new books for my trip (with a gift card…of course). Now that…is crossing stuff off the list!
11. At the post office I picked up a package that has surprises for the 3-Day…and they are SO AWESOME! I promise to post a link once I give out the gifts…THANK YOU mystery person!
12. Wednesday-I had a date…yes…you see that right…I had a date. Verdict is still out on how I feel about it, but it is a step!
13. SUSHI…enough said!
14. On Wednesday I also got a random email from a man that I bought Broadway Across America tickets from 2 or 3 years ago. These tickets were front row center to Mama Mia a couple of years ago…well this time Wicked is coming to town…and I was looking to see if I could find a way to swing it in NYC…well now I don’t have to sell my car to go in NYC…I get to go for face value when I get back from NYC. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

15. Talked to an old friend from High School days a couple of times this week…it has been fun to catch up with him and just remember what a great, strong friendship we had!
16. Tonight I am going to dinner with another childhood friend that I haven’t seen in 10+ years…I will let you know how it goes.
17. This week I got a donation in the mail from a friend…and it was such a nice surprise.
18. Washed the DIRTY DIRTY CAR!
19. Got some sweet Facebook comments from some great friends.
20. Making plans for the rest of the week and weekend before I leave town. It really does feel good to feel like my old self. I was wondering if I would ever find her again…she is coming out…slowly but surely!
Until the next time!

ONE WEEK!
There are only a mere 7 days standing between me and my trip! 7…I can handle 7! So in honor of 7 days…I want to tell you 7 things I will be doing on my trip!
1. The Breast Cancer 3-Day (August 7-9)
2. Exploring the Great City of Chicago and seeing some of my AMAZING FRIENDS! That includes:
• My walking buddies-Dusty, Laurie, Donny, Gloria (who I met at the Dallas 3-Day), her walking buddy Lindsay.
• Dyfan and Hunter-our cheering section
• Susie, Dawn, Haley, Christi and Susie’s Mom (my friends that I frequently go see in Illinois)
• Possibly a couple of friends from Austin that will be up there for Lollapalooza
• DoriAnn, Julie & Sallie (friends from the WW message boards)
3. Flying to NYC on Tuesday to meet up with a couple of friends! One has graciously given me a place to stay and I can’t wait to meet her and spend time with both of them!
4. Exploring the city while everyone is at work (hopefully by bike and not my 2 feet) ANY SUGGESTIONS? I would love to see things that I haven’t had the chance to see on some of my other trips.
5. Taking a train or automobile down to Bradley Beach, NJ to meet up with 7 AMAZING WOMEN for some much need face to face girl time!
6. Then trotting on down to Atlantic City for a good beach day with the girls and I am sure the night will be just as fun!
7. Last but not least, hitching a ride back to Philly to hang out for a day before I head back home!
This is going to be an amazing trip! I look forward to sharing it with you guys as it goes along!

Funny how things can turn around if you just put your mind to it!
1. Went and saw a sneak peak of The Ugly Truth with Shawn on Friday…that movie is FREAKING funny! I am going to have to go see it again just to catch the parts that were missed because of the laughter in the theater. HIGHLY RECOMMEND…and DON’T take your kids!

2. Popcorn at the movie theater. It deserves its own number…it was that good!
3. Got a nice card from my friend Danielle…THANK YOU SO MUCH!
4. Saturday I worked for LuAnn at a couple of weddings at the Driskill…THE flowers were AMAZING and it was a hard, busy day…but with great company it was FUN! Can’t wait to help again!

20 Things...
Man…sometimes this list is so hard to write! Right now though I need to remember more than ever that there are good things going on in my life, even when some of the bad tends to overshadow that!
1. Madalynn Elizabeth who joined us on 07/08/09…and her beautiful family! Roxie, JD and Baby JD...I love them!
2. I have amazingly generous friends as demonstrated by the total that I have left to raise for the 3-day going down ($173 left to go)!
3. LuAnn…while lots of people have stepped in and up to help me get through this tough time, no one even comes close to how much LuAnn has given of herself. I can’t believe how lucky I am that I can count her among my closest of friends! Thanks for EVERYTHING LU!
4. Another person that I need to thank is Shawn. That poor girl listens to me cry, bitch and moan almost as much as LuAnn and then she still loves me anyway!
5. Pool Day! LuAnn and I had so much fun hanging by the pool on Saturday…and I have the itchy remnants of a sunburn to prove it! GOOD TIMES!
6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN! We went out with my brother and his wife and friends to celebrate his birthday. And while…Coupland Dance Hall was not really hopping that night…we had fun anyway. And oh my…do we have a story we can tell for ages to come
7. Bailey is doing so much better! He is gaining weight and he doesn’t even mind that his mom gives him shots twice a day…that is a HUGE relief! It is the best when he snuggles in close at night!
8. Happy Birthday AMY! I can’t wait to set up our movie date…I always have so much fun when I get to spend time with you!
9. Big Brother…I know, I know…it is such a cheesy show, but it is my summertime indulgence!
10. Starting to plan and get really excited about the 3-day trip! I can’t wait to walk, spend time with Dusty, and see some of my friends that live in the area! IT WILL BE AWESOME!
11. In 3 weeks…a break from the Texas heat!
12. In a little over 3 weeks…much needed girl time with AMAZINGLY AWESOME GIRLS!
13. A cool box of goodies from my Red, White & Blue Swap…which I will blog about soon!
14. READING…how could I forget…I have actually had the chance to pick up and read a couple of books lately. I have a PILE of books that I have been meaning to read for a year or more! I miss how much fun it is to just sit and enjoy a good book!
15. Recently had a great time hanging out with Betsy and Roxie…got some lunch and a pedicure. That is always guaranteed to be a GREAT TIME!
16. Time with Sara and her family to celebrate birthdays…again…always good to see them!
17. Something I am looking forward to…next week going to lunch with my mom Teresa…I haven’t gotten a chance to spend time with her in awhile…so it will be nice to catch up!
18. Another surprise package from Anika…she rocks at this! And one day…I am going to get the best package together and ship it her way to show her some mail love!
19. Dusty and Kari…for continuing to check on me and see what is going on…A BIG SHOUT OUT TO KARI FOR HER RACE NEXT WEEK! You are going to be AWESOME!
20. MY DAD…for loving me even through my craziness…and backing off when I needed him to! I LOVE YOU DAD!
There you have it folks. It took me quite awhile to come up with this list…I KNOW things will get better and they won’t be this hard forever. I KNOW…I just have to make my mind and my heart catch up to the same place!
Thanks for believing in me and supporting me…it means so much!

Lost and Thank YOU!

I know some of you have been worried about me…and I am sorry that you have been worrying! I am alive and getting better! There has been so much going on and while I won’t bore you with the details…some days have been rough! I haven’t been or felt this lost probably ever in my life. And while it was something I had to go through, I am working on getting to the other side!
I know I have so much to be thankful for in my life and I don’t take those things for granted. But sometimes there are learning aches and pains along the way and you just have to learn and move forward!
To those who have called, emailed and been there for me…it means more than you will ever know!
I know I will get through all this because there is a bigger plan for me and because I have such amazing people in my life!
Thank you for being there when I needed you the most!

26 Days!
I can’t believe that it is almost time to walk and I can’t wait to get out there and hit the pavement! This year has been HARDER than ever to raise the money to walk and to travel. Unexpected things have come up all over the place. And while it would be easy to freak out and stress out about where the money will come from, I figured it was time to leave it in someone else’s hands and remember that in the end, It will all work out!
To everyone that has donated and cheered me on…thank you for EVERYTHING! I couldn’t do this without each and everyone of you!
By The Numbers:
• 26 days until Opening Ceremonies
• $383-The amount I still have left to raise to walk http://www.the3day.org/goto/jannachicago09
• $300-The amount of money I need to travel (hotel, car, meals, etc.)-if you can help with this please email me for my address.
• 60 The Number of Miles To Be Walked
• Millions-The amount of lives changed by what we are raising money and walking for!

Here is a little info about our walk:
August 7-9, 2009
The Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day will begin with an emotional Opening Ceremony at Northbrook Court, where we'll gather together to pay tribute to the many women and men who have lost their battle with breast cancer, and honor the survivors. We'll remember the reason we're walking as we make our way through the beautiful suburbs of Chicago’s North Shore. Our path will pass through the Botanic Gardens
then it's on to Winnetka, Kenilworth and Wilmette, where we’ll get a view of Lake Michigan and visit many of the area's serene parks. We'll continue through shaded streets and quiet neighborhoods on our way to camp for the night. You won't believe your eyes when you see the sea of pink tents ready to serve as your home away from home.
On Saturday morning, we'll rise and shine, ready to hit the trail. This second day of walking will showcase the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We'll explore the friendly neighborhoods of Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect, Arlington Heights and Prospect Heights and enjoy tremendous support along the route before we head back to camp for another night of community, camaraderie and fun.
The final day of our journey will travel from Lincolnwood into Chicago. Lake Michigan and splendid views of Chicago’s skyline will dominate the landscape as we pass through Lincoln Park and Grant Park. Soak in the sights of many of Chicago's famous landmarks, including Navy Pier, Buckingham Fountain, the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and much more. The final stretch will feature the beauty of downtown before heading to Soldier Field for a celebratory Closing Ceremony.
As always…I walk for Elizabeth, Dawn, Jane and for all those that can’t!
To everyone that has donated and cheered me on…thank you for EVERYTHING! I couldn’t do this without each and everyone of you!
